The Hover Fly..

The Hover Fly:

Ok, so I’m pottering around in the garden out the front and thinking that the water in the little ‘pond’ water feature might not be as clean as it could be.

It looked a bit muddy and the water level was low.

A few sticks around the edge, and some leaves floating in it…

As I’m pondering whether to change it, or top it up, a hover fly floats past my eyeline and .. hovers there.

Still wondering about the condition of the water, I look at the hover fly and say “Would you drink that?”

To my bemused surprise it drifts straight down to the dry section in the centre of the pond, where the water just touched, and starts drinking!

Watching it drink, I stay very quiet and still, feeling strangely calm, as though time had stopped somehow, and randomly wonder if it had actually responded to me, and if so, if it had simply ‘done what I’d asked’ or if it understood that I wanted to know if the water was still ok to drink.

It stayed drinking for almost ten seconds(!) while at the same time giving me the impression that it was showing me the water was good to drink, and that it wasn’t drinking simply because I’d asked it to.

Then, it gently flew up in front of me again.

Still inside the timeless sensation I was feeling, I said “Thanks”, and it flew away.

It was only then that I realised I’d just had a ‘conversation’ with a hover fly… and it had reacted as though it knew exactly what I was saying, what I wanted and why, and had willingly helped me out.

Resolving Paradoxes

In most occult practises, and in this one in particular, there is no need to resolve Paradox.

Resolving paradoxes is an impossible task set by philosophical head scratchers who love to offer themselves impossible tasks (only half joking here).

The reason those of us who Practise Leonorian Metaphysics don’t attempt to resolve Paradox is that there is no immediate Metaphysical need to do so.

The Law of the Paradox governs all manifested things, and could be called (if your mind leans towards that kind of humour) part of the great “cosmic joke” inside which we, and all manifested material and events exist.

And don’t exist.

Strength Heart and Wisdom to you all.
