A Coven member just requested information about how to progress from the Second to the Third Level of the Middle Circle, and I thought the reply would be of interest here, too.
A longish read, with lots of useful detail for you even if you’re not aiming at becoming an Adept :)
Guidance:
On Progressing from the Second to the Third Level of Leonorian Metaphysics within the Red Rose Order.
To progress from the Second Level of the Middle Circle to the Level of Adept, you must, at the very least, Understand the context, meaning and flow of each of the Signs and be able to explain them, and the Cycle of Creation to others, without drawing comparisons or correspondences from anywhere else.
You need to be able to Perform each of our Workings, Rituals, and Ceremonies, from the Neophyte versions through to the Adept Forms, Understand why they are structured in that particular way, and how the results of Practising them directly affect your life.
You also need to be able to lead others in those Workings, Rituals, and Ceremonies, either individually or in groups, and help them to understand the results.
You must Understand and be able to use “Controlled Schizophrenia”: the ability to Step Outside and Observe yourself when necessary.
To Walk Between Worlds..
It is absolutely imperative that you have a clear Understanding of the process called “On Creating Deities”, to Know it deeply and be able to explain it to others if asked, and to Know when and how to apply our 21 Guidelines specifically and in general.
And you must Understand, know when and how to apply the Law of the Paradox to any given situation, and be able to explain it to others.
This Level, like all other Levels within the Order, cannot be bought.
It is earned.
You need to be able to clearly Understand these conditions and states of mind yourself, and confidently answer questions about them if asked.
You also need to be able to Guide people through these conditions and states of mind according to each Practitioner’s ability to Understand and cope with subsequent and consequent outcomes, which you also need to Guide people through if asked – with no need for guess work on your part.
But, the most important ability you must have is to be able to See and Experience, as a constant, that Below is the Manifested part of Above, not a reflection of it.
Not only to Understand, but experience that Below can’t exist without Above, but that Above can and does exist whether anything Below has Manifested or not.
To Know and Understand that Above is Everything and Nothing at the same time, and has no boundaries.
To Know and Understand that it is All Potential and “but a Thought”.
Not the kind of thought that is the constant background chatter of your mind.
But Thought.
Which is greater than anything you can Imagine and hides within spaces you can’t see.
Which happens once, and Always.
Until you can – honestly – do that, your position and the need for ongoing Work within the Second Level will prevail.
A challenging, confronting but potentially joyous task that will fill your Days and Nights.
